'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

What a wonderful way to spend a summer's day! Iris is so lucky that her great grandparents own a boat. This week's picture was taken during Iris's first trip aboard the boat and she absolutely loved it!

It was also my first time on the boat and I was amazed by how peaceful it was. We sailed along the canal from Torksey Lock to Saxilby and back again. We stopped for the most delicious lunch at The Pyewipe, if you ever get chance to go there the food is amazing and it is my dream wedding venue (take note, Daddy!). We boarded for our return journey and enjoyed tea and Great Grandma's homemade victoria sponge. It was heaven.

Iris was in her element as she sat alongside Great Grandad, ringing the bell and waving at passers by. She spotted ducks, swans and geese and grinned at dogs walking down the canal side. She thoroughly enjoyed her cake and then she snuggled up close to Daddy for a nap, which made his day as she's never still enough for sleepy cuddles anymore.

It was a wonderful day but more than that it was a trip down memory lane for Daddy. He's grown up going on the boat with his grandparents a watching his face as his little girl followed in his footsteps was heartwarming. We are so very lucky to have these opportunities.

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
