Living Arrows | Anticipating A Second Lockdown

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

It's been a quiet week for us this week, with the introduction of mandatory masks and the increasing uncertainty around the world we've felt like staying inside and staying safe. Our local area has had a surge in cases and a testing site had been temporarily set up in a nearby car park.

This week's picture was taken at Grandma's house. Iris has been for a few sleepovers since the restrictions relaxed. I've never been one for letting her sleep out. I'm very much a clingy mum and like her at home but having spent an intense 4 months housebound with a toddler I've learnt that my own sanity is very important and 'letting her go' both physically and mentally helps me so much.

Iris has changed so much in the last four months and it's nice that she's getting the opportunity to catch up on lost time with her Grandma. Ordinarily I'd feel so guilty when Iris slept out but right now I don't. The way the things are heading I think it's only a matter of time before we're in some state of lockdown again. I'm letting Iris make the most of Grandmas's house before we face another period of not being able to see the ones we love.

  1. Oh gosh that's a bit scary about your local area having more cases - fingers crossed it calms down again. I'm sure your little girl has loved having time with her Grandma - I can't wait til my two can hug their Nanny again xx

  2. Things are changing so fast at the moment and I feel like we have to make the most of our freedoms before things get tightened again. It's such a strange time x

  4. We're in the north west where cases are increasing again too, although we've not been affected by further lock down measures yet. It's such a strange time isn't it - I just hope the children still manage to get back to school in September!

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
