Living Arrows | N-ICE Weather For A Walk

Katrina Over 30s UK blogger talking about parenting, autism, mental health, books and coeliac disease. What The Redhead Said Living Arrows UK Parenting Blog Link Up Khalil Gibran Quote

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

This picture looks like she's about to drop some sick hip hop beats (I cringed writing that- I feel so old!). Hasn't it been a cold week!? The thermals and flasks have definitely been used. I've been feeling a bit rubbish this week due to an ear infection and whilst I'd have preferred not to go out this week, the truth is we struggle if we don't get out.

Iris is a very active child, she loves nothing more than running and shouting and playing high energy games such as tag. We find that if we don't get out daily then she gets agitated and whiney. She's most definitely a child that needs to burn her energy. An hour outside and she's a different child. Her concentration levels improve, her moods are more balanced, she has more patience and she eats and plays better.

It's difficult when the weathers as cold as it has been this week. Iris will enjoy herself regardless of the weather but for me it's been pretty grim standing in the icy wind with a poorly ear! As much as I love playing on the ice I'm hoping that the warmer weather we've been promised for next week arrives sooner rather than later.

Thanks For Reading,

  1. Oh my goodness I hate to think of being in this cold with a poorly ear - my ears are sensitive enough at the best of times! You poor thing, hope it gets better very soon x #livingarrows

  2. Ugh that is no fun to be down with an ear infecting while trying to be outside in the cold. My boys were always the same way growing up though; the fresh air and outdoor time did them so much good!

  5. It's definitely warmed up where we are, hope it has for you as well, and I hope your ear is feeling better too.

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
