It's been a hectic few weeks as we've been simultaneously tiling the kitchen and laying slabs for the new patio in the garden. It's been a dusty, messy few weeks so on Daddy's day off on Friday we made sure we had a family day and did something fun with Iris. Iris has been asking to go to Sundown Adventureland for months, pre-covid we held annual passes and visited a lot as it's only half an hour from where we live and 5 minutes away from Dan's family.
The last time we visited Sundown was February 2020 and I cannot believe how little Iris looks in this picture, it makes my heart ache to think how many adventures we've missed over the last 17 months. Iris is a September baby so she's missed out on starting primary school this year which is a blessing really as it gives another year of adventures that we can have during term time.
We're so pleased to be annual pass holders again and can't wait to go back for some more fun! Iris is tall enough to have her own pass now and she's not stopped carrying it round since we got it!

What a fun day out - we are yet to go to a leisure park/ theme park but with the rising cases I daren't do it just yet.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit apprehensive but they have done everything in their power to make it safe and every ride was sanitised between riders, it meant waiting a little longer but I honestly didn't mind. There was plenty of sanitiser around the park so it felt quite safe- we did avoid the indoor soft play areas though- I'm not quite brave enough to go there yet!
DeleteIt looks like great fun! It's sad to think about how much they've missed isn't it? I sometimes mention things we used to do pre-pandemic and the boys don't even remember them! Hopefully things will get back to something like normality one of these days though x
ReplyDeleteYes there are a lot of things Iris can't remember doing but she was only 2.5 when we locked down in the March so she was only a baby really. I don't think things will ever go back to normal, I think they may appear to do on the surface but I don't think I'll ever go without hand sanitiser again! x

ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect place for little ones as there aren't really any height restrictions so no upset littles. It was a very welcome break, now onto the next job... x
DeleteAhhh thats lovely, and great you will have 12 months before she starts. I missed the last few weeks of freedom with Harry before he started school due to Covid.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping we can cram in as many days out/uk holidays as safely as we can before she goes to school full time. We'd love a holiday abroad without paying school holiday prices but I don't feel it will be safe enough to go before next September x
