Living Arrows | Cool Down

Young kid on a slide in summer wearing sun glasses.

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

Oh to be as effortlessly cool as Iris! She walks around with such confidence and has such a zest for life. We've been doing a few home renovations this week and she approaches every job with such enthusiasm (she asks to help, I'm not advocating child labour!). She's so helpful around the house and she's always coming home from pre-school with 'wow moments' for helping other children.

We were at a bbq at the weekend and one of the guests, a mid 20s 'cool' guy with no kids stopped to tell us how well mannered and cool Iris is. It was such a lovely thing for him to say, especially as he's not the sort of person you would expect to notice a child's behaviour. I really appreciated the compliment. Parenting is hard and you never know if what you're doing is right so hearing something like that reassures me I'm on the right track. I'm so proud of my not-so-little girl.

  3. Aww, it's so lovely to hear from other people that they're doing you proud isn't it? She definitely looks cool on the slide in her sunglasses!

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
