Living Arrows | Mummy Daughter Days

Image of a mother and daughter on a playground. The mother has a short pixie haircut and is wearing tortoise shell glasses and bright lipstick . She is smiling. The daughter has long blonde hair that is flowing over her shoulders. The girl is pulling a silly face and sticking out her tongue.

'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.

As you can see Iris is in that annoying pre-schooler phase of silly faces, made up words and constantly saying 'poo', 'bum' and 'sick'. She's well and truly in that 'gross out the grown ups' stage of her life and whilst it's annoying, it can on occasion be rather amusing.

Last week she came out with a blinder of a statement. I was under the weather with ongoing issues so Daddy was in charge of the school run. He came back in tears of laughter as one of the other mums had told him that Iris had been saying I'd been home ill "with bum worms!" fans of Bluey will know that we've got Bandit to blame for that!

Thankfully the other mums are all familiar with Bluey so it wasn't too embarrassing. It will definitely be one of those tales that gets told in years to come when Iris brings friends home 'hey Iris, remember that time you told everyone I had bum worms" - I may even drag my bum along the carpet for extra embarrassing power- parenting can be fun sometimes!

Thank you for supporting me on my journey to raise awareness about mothers on the autistic spectrum. We do exist, we just need people to know we do!
