We're back again with another collection of gift ideas, this time for 3 year olds. It's been a year since Iris's 3rd birthday and throughout the year I've kept a note of the things we used the most in order to create this gift guide. Prior to having a child of my own I'd always struggle with what to buy children of certain ages. My hope is that posts like this can help you to purchase something useful, that will be loved and is age appropriate.
Living Arrows | She's Back!
After a few days of illness last week I think we can safely say that Iris is on the mend! How fabulous is this picture?!? It just perfectly captures her spirit. She's so confident, so funny and such a ball of energy. I'm clinging onto these moments as it feels like a matter of time before she's ill again- it's definitely the season as not only are there positive cases of Covid at pre-school but also now chicken pox! Autumn is usually my favourite time of year but now I have a pre-schooler I'm starting to change my mind.
The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
The Mercies is the tale of a small coastal fishing village that suffers a great tragedy, one that disrupts the entire nature of the people that live there. An almighty storm killing almost all the men and leaving the women behind to grieve, strive and ultimately aim to survive the harsh realities of their new lives. Help arrives from foreign shores, shores that are ran by patriarchies and religious zealots. What will happen to the women of Vardo?
Living Arrows | Bogey Poke
'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth' Khalil Gibran.
The back-to-school germs have well and truly hit our house this week. It started with Daddy being sent home from work and having 4 days off (when he's never had a sick day in over ten years!). We isolated Daddy in the bedroom for the first few days until he had a negative PCR test result then he was allowed out but by this time Iris had been struck down with the lurgy.
Gloworm Children's Festival 2021
Festivals, not something that's been on the top of people's to do list over the last 18 months but as normality gets ever closer and we begin to emerge from a time of lockdowns and restrictions we finally get the chance to stand in a field of strangers, sharing portaloos and common interests. Joyous. Gloworm Festival is the UK's absolute best family orientated festival. It's a heady mix of Cbeebies characters, Playmobil raves, glitter face paints, arts and crafts and circus tricks. Whatever your little ones are into they'll find something to enjoy at Gloworm.
Living Arrows | Paw Patrol Movie
Iris loves Paw Patrol. Most kids have phases where they enjoy different characters but Paw Patrol seems to have outlived all previous phases and has been going strong for over a year now. Her birthday party Paw Patrol themed, her presents were all Paw Patrol based and she's asked for a Paw Patrol bedroom when her room gets painted next month so what better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon than a trip to our local cinema to see the movie.
